Why would you go for managed IT services?

Wham!

You’ve finally hit it. Your IT expertise is at its limit. Your business and team has grown more than you could have imagined and the bits of IT knowledge you gathered here and there, which have served an office of 3 well, will not support an office of 15. Not to mention the amount of time you have taken to scramble and support your staff. . .

You finally realize “I need help.”

Good for you!

You could hire another person.. but they have their own limits. And your staffing costs will increase.. What do you spend most of your time on? Would purchasing some kind of software help? Even with new software, you will still need someone to maintain it. You have heard of Managed Service Providers (MSPs) through a networking partner but you don’t know if you really need THAT. Do you?

Is your business at a point where it needs to be Managed?

While you ponder on those questions, here are a couple of points to consider.

  1. You can count on an MSP more than one individual employee. Instead of having one employee who may be out that day, you have an IT Support company at your service. This company has more than 1 tech (hopefully….) who is familiar with your business and is able to assist you, regardless of who called out sick or who is on vacation.
  2. The benefits of your network being monitored go beyond the 9-5 grind. An MSP will typically have a Network Operations Center (NOC). A NOC is where the techs monitor and manage your network. System issues are detected and resolved often before you are aware. An MSP also employs automated procedures to monitor your network health and stability 24/7. This security of the manual and automated processes will increase the reliability of your systems by warding off hackers and viruses, while also monitoring the physical hardware to anticipate failure.
  3. Scalability. This might seem like a buzz word, however this concept is important for any small to medium sized business. Businesses grow and shrink over time. It’s like the company is breathing. With an MSP- you have the ability to adjust the support up and down as the business changes. Can we say cost savings?
  4. Another benefit of an MSP is you have a company who can consult with you! They have much more experience and IT personnel than you will. (Not trying to offend..) This gives you the opportunity to pick someone else’s brain and figure out different ways to increase efficiency and improve your overall IT strategy.

This is about you, your team, and how your business runs.
